What we offer you here
Engagiert für Stuttgart is the volunteering portal for Stuttgart. It brings together information, opportunities, contact people and stories relating to volunteering in Stuttgart.
The portal was launched in October 2026. Its aim is to provide guidance, shine a spotlight on inspiring people, projects and initiatives, and encourage people to get involved in Stuttgart.
In practical terms, this means:
Inspiration
We’ll give you a glimpse into some exciting projects and introduce you to people who are making a difference. Perhaps they’ll inspire you to get involved too?
Information
We’ll keep you up to date on the latest developments and key issues relating to volunteering in Stuttgart and beyond.
Information
We answer common questions about volunteering. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch with us.
Points of contact
We’ll tell you which departments and contact persons you can turn to for further information.
Our diverse and dynamic community of volunteers is a real asset to Stuttgart. As it is constantly evolving, this portal offers you insights, ideas, inspiration and plenty of opportunities to make contacts. We are unable to provide a comprehensive overview.
Community involvement, voluntary work, volunteering – hang on a minute!?
There are many different terms. At Engagiert für Stuttgart, we mainly use the term ‘engagement’. The reason: it is broad enough to encompass a wide variety of forms and manifestations. The term encompasses the diverse ways in which people get involved. After all, community engagement is not limited to traditional voluntary work, but also includes many small and large contributions to the common good. In this way, we highlight just how vibrant community involvement actually is in Stuttgart.
Citizen participation is a specific form of engagement in which citizens play an active role in the city’s political decision-making and planning processes. You can get involved via the participation platform ‘Stuttgart – meine Stadt’.
The volunteering scene in Stuttgart is vast and diverse. For this reason, this portal cannot provide a comprehensive overview of all organisations, areas of work and opportunities. If you feel that important information is missing, please do send us your suggestions.
